Commission Chandelier

This is a huge undertaking.  Lots of fun AND very challenging.  Every day I add a color chosen by the client.   Have to restrain myself so I can limit the patterns and solids.

Girls Night -Charity Event A HUGE SUCCESS!

Last night was so much fun!  We had a great turn out of folks, lots of lively conversation and beautiful jewelry.  We had good sales and we were able to give the charity "Shoes That Fit" a nice contribution.  I would love to do this again next year.

More Pictures

There's another pic of the Gallery.

Gallery is ready!

Just painted all the gallery exhibit areas.

I am really looking forward to next Monday night "Girls Night At The Gallery".  Have received good press coverage and connected with lots of friends and clients.  Monday a.m. the 2 jewelers  who are going to exhibit and sell their work will be setting up their display. 10% of all the gross sales go to "Shoes That Fit"  a charity that provides new shoes and clothing to school children in need.

Getting the Gallery Ready!

Check out this new wall color!  Also put up beadboard on this wall only.  Had to make the change because the bamboo I had there was sagging pretty badly. Am really excited about "Girls Night At The Gallery" Monday Oct 24 5 - 9 PM.  Have a lot of advertising sent out - sure hope it's a success.  I've invited two jewelry artisans to show and sell their artwork. - they are very well known and do beautiful work with fine metals, gemstones and beads.

Getting Ready!

Just seems like a few weeks ago that summer was just starting and now WOW it's over.  I've been building inventory and completing some special orders.  Before long the snowbirds will return - they bring a whole new source of energy to the area.  I am looking forward to seeing my clients from up north and new folks as well.

Second Summer Sunday Was Great!

Sunday July 24 was the second "Summer Sunday" at my gallery AND it was very successful!  Several new folks came and were pleased with the artwork and enjoyed talking to the artists.  The winners of the "FREE" artwork were delighted!  It was a good turn out of folks especially since July, August, and September are the months that most full-time residents down here go on vacations.

August 28 is the next and last "Summer Sunday"  I am hopeful for equally good participation.

First "Summer Sunday" Is A Huge Success

Sunday, June 26, the public was invited to my gallery from 1 - 4 p.m. for iced tea, lemonade and home made cookies AND to register for a FREE art giveaway.  There was a great turn out for the afternoon - good to see friends, clients and meet some new folks as well.  3 artists from the gallery also contributed artwork to the giveaway.  At 4:00 we drew names and gave 4 pieces of original artwork to some very pleased folks.  Next "Summer Sunday" is scheduled for July 24.  What fun!

Building inventory

Now that "Season" is over and everything slows down and traffic clears, I can focus on creating more functional and fine art every day in my studio.  I can be so creative AND so messy!  So much fun.  This 3' vase is one  of my current challeges - it is covered in a design of shell, buttons, mirror shards, beads and pearls, broken pottery, marbles, rocks and rope.

Challenging Calendar Ahead

Terrific ideas are formulating for the next year!  I am so excited about making them all become a reality.  I am trying to put together events in the gallery that meet clients' needs for creative artwork and also expand the client's threshold of aesthetic appreciation.  Keep posted.  New calendar events will follow once decisions are made!

Lesley Phillips Exhibit Extended

Lesley Phillips abstract impressionist

artwork has been so well received that we are extending her exhibit through April 30.  The vibrant colors she uses creates amazing illusions on canvas.  Her artwork expands the spectrum of creativity in the gallery.

March is almost over!

Sure has been an eventful "season" down here in the Florida tropics.  Lots of folks from up north enjoying the sunshine and beaches.  My new location has worked really well for folks who are bike riding, walking and just out for an afternoon  car ride - they stop by and seem to enjoy the gallery and the "edgy" artwork.  The public accessibility is wonderful!  I really like meeting all the different people and listening to their stories of their homes up north - memories, for sure.  Am starting to plan for the summer - may conjure up some new ideas for the gallery!

FEATURED ARTIST RECEPTION

Last night's opening reception for artist Dot Lingren was well attended. Dot's artwork looked great and folks seemed to be very responsive to it.  Thanks to M.E. Parker, Judy Seeger and Francine Gerson for their support.  Their artwork and photography are exhibited in my gallery on a regular basis.

Peter Sargent's Wood Sculptures

I have many pictures of the reception for Peter Sargent.  However, I am having difficulty getting them into my computer to share.  Hope I can figure out what is going on so I can share these pics with every one.
Peter Sargents' wood sculptures look particularly "at home" in my gallery.  They add another textural element that fits seamlessly with all of the existing artwork.  The public's reception has been very positive. Peter's sculptures will be exhibited through January 28th.
Beginning with an opening reception on Friday,  February 4th, Dot Lingren's acrylic abstract collages will be exhibited.

First Featured Artist Reception

Friday night was a huge success!  I am so happy for Peter Sargent.  His wood sculptures looked beautiful in my gallery.  The placement and lighting really highlighted their beauty.  So many people turned out to share the opening of his exhibition.  People were shoulder to shoulder, talking, meeting each other, looking at the artwork and enjoying wine and cheese together.  It was a great night!  Peter's exhibit will remain in my gallery until the 28th of January.  Then a new featured artist arrives!  what fun!
