Update
Hello my friends!
Can you feel the weather changing? Slowly the humidity is leaving and the wonderful breezes are bringing dry, balmy air. Thank goodness, right? Now you will enjoy the beaches and all the outdoor events so much more. It is a beautiful place on earth. No question.
October was a busy month in my Gallery. I have been working steadily on 3 commissions for clients who will return in November. It is very challenging and exciting for me as an artist. I love watching the specific colors and designs thoughtfully come together as each unique composition is completed. Truly a joy!
The October charity event, “Bling, Baubles and Bubbly” was a huge success. A special “thank-you” to the jewelry artisans, Renata Vagoda and Lynda VanBibber who exhibited and sold their originally designed artistic jewelry. And a special thanks to all the delightful kind women who participated and generously donated to the charity, “Shoes That Fit".
Happy Thanksgiving!

New Season 2016-2017
New Season 2016 - 2017
Hello! I hope your summer was filled with many happy moments. The sun is still shining here in beautiful SWFL. Those of us who are here all year, notice the humidity is beginning to lessen, making each day more beautiful. Soon we can turn the AC off and open our sliding doors to welcome the balmy breezes of this amazing corner of the world.
Work (it’s really so much fun!) in my studio continues at a thoughtful and creative pace. I spent the summer completing several commissioned orders, designing new work for my gallery and planning my 2016 – 17 calendar of Gallery events. Time flies…I have so many ideas!
My first Gallery event is for the Ladies - please set aside Monday, October 24 from 5 to 7:30 pm to attend the annual CHARITY EVENT: “Bling, Baubles and Bubbly” at my Gallery.
This annual event is a jewelry show and sale featuring the original jewelry designed by 2 local jewelry artisans: Lynda Van Bibber and Renata Vigoda. 20% of all sales in the gallery this evening will be given to the charity, “Shoes That Fit”, providing NEW shoes for children in need in Bonita Springs. Any questions? Don’t hesitate to contact me.
We always have lively conversations and enjoy FREE bubbly champagne and sweets!

Update
Everything is slowing down here in SWFL since the “snowbirds” are going back to the north. We will miss the energy and enthusiasm that our friends and family share with us each time they come down here to paradise. I will miss them. In my studio, I will be working on 3 new commissions for clients who plan to return in October. So exciting! I love doing my artwork during the summer months. Many of my friends and former clients stop by and chat. It’s always so nice to see them. From May through September, my time is now flexible since my studio hours are adjusted to: Open By Chance or Appointment. Please call me 239.776.6844 if you have any questions or need information about my artwork and/or the Gallery. Beginning in October, my regular business hours will resume: Tues. – Sat. 11 am – 5 pm. If you see the “OPEN” sign outside, please stop by! Hope to see you.

Update
Lots of traffic outside my gallery window! This is a very busy time for me. Many new people have stopped in my gallery this season. I really enjoyed meeting them and talking about this artwork that I was working on for several months. I just finished it for a client and we installed it last week. It is 38”H x 56”L.

Two March 2016 Gallery Events
These two March events in my gallery are fun, free and informative. On Saturday, March 19, we will all sit around my studio table and explore the topic, “ I don’t have time to be creative”. This is the third and final monthly discussion for the 2016 “Season” and it is very informal. I hope you will stop by…we always have a good time together!
“All the Hues of the Sunset” is the third monthly artwork exhibit in my Gallery during March 7 - 31. The artwork in this exhibit is predominantly the colors of the sunset over the Gulf.
You will see yellows, oranges, reds, blues, greens and purples in this unique arrangement of my artwork. The Gallery’s regular business hours are 11 – 5 pm Tuesday - Saturday.
Please call me if you have any questions: 239 – 776 – 6844

It’s February already! Wonderful people are visiting my gallery who are escaping the cold up north and bringing new energy to the area. Plan on stopping by to see my February exhibit, “All the Greens of the Tropics” - a unique grouping of several different assemblage’ compositions using various greens.
Also, you might like to join in a small informal discussion group on Saturday, February 20 from 2 – 3 pm. The topic is, “I can’t even draw a straight line’. This is the 2nddiscussion of 3 that are planned for this “season”. Each time is always enjoyable and informative, too. Hope to see you!

Update
The 5th annual charity event at my Gallery was a huge success! The exhibit and sale of jewelry designed by Barbara Ellis and Rita Linton, was amazing. They even dressed in black with Halloween jewelry and hats! I sure appreciate the efforts of Pat Leggett (the district representative from the charity, "Shoes That Fit") and her friend, Carol. They were so helpful and so supportive.

Update
I like the way the neutral colors in this composition interact with the angles of the wood shape and the mirror shards. The size is about 36" in diameter.

Third Summer Sunday Didn't Happen
Due to the hurricane warnings. I had to cancel the third "Summer Sunday". So disappointed. But these things just happen so we make the best of it. Sorry for any inconvenience. Hope it doesn't happen next year.

2nd Summer Sunday
This past Sunday was the Second "Summer Sunday" at my gallery. Just like the first, the people who came were friendly and enjoyed signing up for the "FREE ART"drawing. I just finished calling all of the winners. The artwork they have won really is a nice addition to the home or a nice gift. August 26 is the third and last "Summer Sunday" for 2012. It will be another fun time for everyone who comes to the Gallery. Remember the date, August 26 from 1 - 4 pm. You don't have to be present to win but you do have to sign up on Sunday. See you then!

Summer Time in the Tropics
Just an amazing change in the demographics of SWFL when "season" ends. Traffic is so nice and sparse, people are not rushed and the stores are not filled. I think the sound level even diminishes. However, that being said, it is always a joy to see the tourists return - they bring an incredible energy to the area that I thrive on. My studio and gallery are filled with special orders ready for me to emerge myself in. So much fun and such a challenge. Every day is an affirmation of what I love to do. I am very grateful.

Off Site Exhibit and Sale
April 25th went well and the exhibit is still hanging. Hopefully, new folks will see it! Things are winding down now. "Season" is over and each day more tourists return north. I really enjoy the increased time I can work in my studio. I have so many ideas! But,it's always so good to have the "snowbirds" return. They bring a lot of energy to the area.

Off-Site Exhibit and Sale
I am collaborating with another business (Mark Generales, Sr. VP Southern Trust Financial) to present an art exhibit and sale in their offices. Yep. off-site. This is really challenging. We will do a combined reception Wednesday April 25 with food, wine and violin music from 4 - 6:30 pm. I will be offering a 20% discount on all artwork purchased during this exhibit. Four other artists are joining the exhibit. Should be a great way to thank everybody for a successful season. Can hardly wait to see how this turns out.

Opening Reception A Success!
The Opening Reception for Artist Barbara Brenton on Friday evening at the gallery was a huge suucess. The poetry (ekphrasis) presented by Elaine Plummer was a delightful addition to the event. Great fun with lots of good people, good conversation and refreshments.
